Das ende von uns zusammen

Das ende von uns zusammen

Please click on the above highlighted title to hear this composition.

Das ende von uns zusammen is part of a quintet of compositions of a concept that I am currently working on. The concept being the start, duration, end and aftermath of a relationship with each stage having a musical score to evoke the feelings that people go through on each stage. This composition is the fourth instalment which involves the break up of a relationship and in being so it is the darkest of the quintet.
Das ende von uns zusammen is German for "the end of us together". The reason for the use of German was to give the title and the tune more punch, plus a chance to exercise a strong Rammstein influence that I was trying to introduce into the composition.
The opening and ending chord progressions are one of my earliest forays into music composition. Its influenced by the Italian composer Ennio Morricone. This part was written as far back as late 1986 early 1987 and its a piece of music that I have always kept close and in mind. The soloing for the first part of the tune relies heavily on the Phrygian mode which gives it a strong spanish flavour. The second part rips in with a stabbing motive which utilises the E harmonic minor(spanish phrygian mode) before the main meat of the composition which uses declining diades into a crunching A,D-A,G assault. The opening motif is used again after this but this time distorted with the solo(again distorted) being slow and more poignant. The composition then repeats again with the outro an Aminor with an open B and E.
One of the more somber affairs that I have written but one of the most rewarding. The other compositions that will accompany it,I hope to have recorded in the ensuing months with the end result of it being an EP for sale on Bandcamp.
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog and hopefully listened to das ende von uns zusammen,

                                 Cheers, Riche:@))
